Hobbs now offers a specialist assessment and treatment service for clients wanting to trial the ReWalk Personal System.
The ReWalk 6.0 is the sixth generation of the ReWalk system and is designed for all day use at home and in the community.
The ReWalk is customizable for a precise fit which optimises safety, function and joint alignment and the newest generation ReWalk 6.0 is available at our Hobbs South West location.
What is the ReWalk Exoskeleton?
The ReWalk is a wearable robotic exoskeleton that provides hip and knee motion to enable individuals with spinal cord injury to stand upright, walk, turn, climb and descend stairs. The system allows independent, controlled walking while mimicking the natural gait pattern of the legs.
Who can benefit from it?
ReWalk is intended for use by individuals with lower limb disabilities whose hands and shoulders can support crutches or a walker. Height between 160cm - 190cm (5'3" to 6'2") and weight requirement up to 100kg (220lbs).
Other factors such as bone density and range of motion need to be considered and will be evaluated during your assessment at Hobbs South West.

Is it for clinical use only?
No. The ReWalk is for personal use and after your assessment at our training centre at Hobbs South West you will have the option to buy your own. We offer a package incorporating a 1 week rehab program with in or outpatient availability. You can choose to stay at our 2 bedroomed flat with an on-site hydrotherapy pool, or you may prefer to stay locallly or come as an outpatient.
Your week will incorporate at least 2 sessions per day in the ReWalk with other therapy sessions as necessary. Outcome measures are taken at the beginning and end of the programme to assess suitability of the ReWalk for you.
