What is the OMEGO®?
The OMEGO® forms part of the Tyromotion range of technology-based therapeutic rehabilitation devices.
This pioneering robotic therapy device targets gait re- training and is designed for clients with lower limb functional limitations.
The device also facilitates training in the following areas:
- Muscle strength
- Range of motion & mobilisation
- Foot lifter
- Rhythm and cadence
How does it work?
The OMEGO® has specific functions available, each allowing varied levels of assistance or resistance to meet the needs of clients and allow for progression of treatment. These include:
- Leg press
- Sensory training
- Ankle joint training
- Rhythm training
The leg training has the additional benefit of linking to a clear screen offering motivating games and visual feedback. Treatment outcomes can be monitored to form part of therapy assessments and track progress.
Who can benefit from using it?
Individuals who have lower limb impairmentssuch as weakness, reduced proprioception and range of movement. The device can be used throughout the rehabilitation journey to build endurance and as a tool to improve gait and balance.
What services do Hobbs offer?
At present, the OMEGO® is only available at Hobbs South East in Liss, Hampshire. The device can form part of an overall treatment programme in therapy or be booked to be used as standalone sessions.
