    Our Senior Speech and Language Therapist works with communication and/or swallowing difficulties.

Communication and swallowing are a key part of life and if you're experiencing difficulty it may be having a huge impact on your quality of life.  Our specialist speech and language therapist may be able to help you.

Our service includes;

  • Initial assessment and subsequent treatment for Communication and Swallowing difficulties
  • Home Therapy Programmes
  • Lee Silverman Voice Treatment: Our therapist is one of the few trained clinicians in the UK, able to provide this effective treatment to improve speech in people with Parkinson's Disease
  • Training for family and carers on how to communicate with someone with dysphasia
  • Advice on communication aids
  • Treatment at the centre on in your own home
  • Group Therapy

Melissa Clegg is registered with the Royal Colleague of Speech and Language Therapists and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice.

Terms & Conditions

  • Initial consultation and assessment (including a short report) - £ 100 for 1st hour and £40 for every ½ hour afterwards
  • Detailed report following initial assessment (on request) - £ 50.00
  • Standard therapy session - £ 80 per session (Approx. 1 hour)
  • Travel for domiciliary visits - 40 pence per mile

These fees are within the guidelines agreed by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists with the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independence Practice.

Initial consultations normally include assessments but may also involve observations, discussions and reading of reports from other professionals.  Short reports give brief details of the assessments and therapeutic aims. Longer reports can be prepared if required.

Appointments cancelled at less than 24 hours notice may be charged at the rate for a standard session. Fees for initial consultation should be paid immediately after the report is received. Fees for detailed reports should be paid on receipt of that report.

Invoices are usually sent out once a month. If you want to pay more frequently please let me know. Clients are requested to settle the account within 10 days of receipt. Clients using private health insurance are responsible for settling the invoice and the claiming from the company concerned. It is available to check the level of your cover before agreeing to therapy.
