Clinical Neuropsychology is a branch of Clinical Psychology specialising in brain – behaviour relationships, neuropsychological dysfunction and acquired brain injury rehabilitation. |

At Hobbs Rehabilitation, Neuropsychology is a full member of the multi-disciplinary team, providing both direct intervention and a high level of ongoing liaison and communication with other team members delivering rehabilitation programmes.
The principal roles of the Clinical Neuropsychologist at Hobbs Rehabilitation are as follows:
- providing detailed assessments of clients’ functioning, in particular their cognition, behaviour and emotional states;
- providing advice, consultation and supervision to other professionals regarding cognitive rehabilitation and clients’ emotional/psychological adjustment;
- providing direct, one to one neuropsychological treatment to clients across a range of clinical issue where indicated;
- providing assessments of family adjustment and offering information, advice and support to carers/family members where appropriate;
- providing teaching, training and supervision of other professional staff on the MDT with regard to neuropsychological issues;
The Clinical Neuropsychology Service at Hobbs Rehabilitation is provided by:
Dr Richard Maddicks, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist. Dr Maddicks is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Full Practitioner member of the Division of Neuropsychology and has over ten years experience of working as a specialist clinical psychologist within acquired brain injury. He has published work in the area of inattention treatment following stroke and also undertakes medico-legal work as an expert witness.
Dr Maddicks is a member of the British Psychological Society the professional body which regulates psychologists, their practice and development
Charges and Terms & Conditions for 2006-2007
1) Standard Neuropsychological Assessment & Treatment
Neuropsychological assessments and treatment are undertaken at £125.00 per hour.
A typical neuropsychological assessment, including initial liaison and background reading, assessment, test scoring, preparation of report and administration, takes between 3-7 hours. Estimates of costs can be provided on request
2) Travel time & expenses
Travel time is charged at £60.00 per hour with additional travel expenses of 45p per mile for car travel or reimbursement of public transport fare (standard class).
Travel time/expenses are not charged for work undertaken at Hobbs rehabilitation, Bridgets Lane, Martyr Worthy, or Sarum Road Hospital, Winchester.
3) Payments and terms

Payment within 30 days of the invoice date. Under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interests) Act 1998, statutory interest will automatically start to run on the 31st day.
Unless under exceptional circumstances, charges are also made for cancellations where at least 24 hours notice is not provided. A standard charge of £125.00 will be made. |
