Hypertonicity Clinic

At Hobbs Rehabilitation we run a hypertonicity clinic on a regular basis to advise and treat patients who have problems with an increase in tone, muscle spasm or clonus.

Each patient is individually assessed jointly by their therapist and Professor Udo Kischka, Consultant in Neurological Rehabilitation from the Oxford Centre of Enablement. A treatment package is decided which may involve the review of antispasmodic drugs, botulinum toxin injections and follow-up splinting by our hand therapist or orthotist, if appropriate.
